On May 2, 2020, Bill finally met an obstacle he couldn't overcome…COVID-19.
He was born in 1941 weighing nearly fourteen pounds. He was injured at birth and for the first year and a half of his life, he had both arms in upright wooden braces.
Early in February, he suffered a fall that fractured his pelvis and shoulder. After weeks of hospitalization, skilled nursing, and assisted living, he pushed himself to return home on April 10. By April 15, he was transported to ICU with the virus.
A graduate of Massillon Perry High School, he began his working career immediately. He worked at Cardinal Maintenance, Canton Maintenance, and Cardinal Environmental, but his last job was his favorite. He was a custodian at Springfield Local Schools.
