Karon S Bauernfeind was a beloved mother, grandmother, Aunt and teacher. Karon taught the 4th grade and Washington School in Johnston City, IL and retired in 1999. Karon was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Herrin, an member of the Women's Club and The Red Hatters. She was a bright light and always had a smile on her face. She was loved by past students and remembered every one of them with love. Karon is most remembered by her loved ones for her strength and her loving nature. They sure broke the mold when she was created. She left us during the pandemic which brought such sadness to her family.
