Guy Dante Baranowski Allaud, of Albany, passed away on January 2, 2021, at St. Peter's Hospital following treatment for COVID-19 pneumonia. He was born on August 1, 1933, in St. Etienne, Loire, France. Surviving him are his wife Aimee, whom he married in 1965; and sons, Noel (b. 1967) and Pierre (b.1959). Additional devoted family are Noel's wife Aimee Robichaud (grandsons William and Matthew); sisters-in-law, Linda McCombs (Bruce), Gretchen Jahrling; and nephew Christopher McCombs (Beth). Guy was predeceased by his parents who he was reunited with in 1946 after being separated during World War II.
Guy retired in 1998 after thirty years as associate professor with the Department of Mathematics, University at Albany. He was a 1956 graduate of the University of Houston in mathematics and physics, received a Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1961, and completed postdoctoral work at the University of Chicago, 1961-1963.
