At 98, Emanuel Winston lived a long and eventful life. Born in Queens, NY in 1925 to Anna and Jacob Wicentowsky, he was raised in the Catskills of upstate New York. At the age of 17 Manny enlisted in the army to fight in WWll. By 19 he was sent to the European theater and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. After suffering from frostbitten feet, he was released from the hospital and was sent by himself to the front lines to find his unit.
