Darlene Louise Shafer passed away on May 12, 2023 in her sleep after battling COVID-19. She was born in Whittier, CA and graduated from Jordan High School in Long Beach, CA. Darlene went to college at Long Beach City College and Long Beach State and later worked as a third grade teacher. After marrying her husband, Wendell, she continued as a substitute teacher while raising their daughters.
