Born in Les Aldudes, Pays Basque, France, the 12th of 13 children...A dreamer, storyteller, and fun-lover, Anne-Marie grew up in homes filled with unspoken love, hard work on farms, and stolen time for reading. "We didn't have much, but we had everything we needed," she'd say. She met Remi while working for the local doctor's family, and they married in 1953.
