As a veteran, I see the COVID-19 pandemic as a war – one that we can win
Like war, COVID-19 affects us all. No one has been spared the impact Every corner of America has been affected.
Like war, if you speak to any American, they will have a story about COVID-19. Some with happy endings, some with horrible endings.
Like war, COVID-19 is very divisive.
Like war, no winners or losers, only trauma.
As we prepare for COVID’s fifth wave, today’s COVID-19 feels like the 2007 surge in Iraq: throwing everything at COVID to limit its advance in order to bring the war to an end or to a manageable phase. The jury is still out on the outcome.
In conclusion, like war, COVID-19 will someday no longer be the lead story and news dominating story. Like war, COVID will end. The remnants will remain. Those still standing will be tasked to pick up the pieces, rebuild, and prepare for the next war or COVID-19.
